Hugh E. Lovins

Hugh E. Lovins, 66, of Fairmount, passed away at 3:23 am on Friday, January 17, 2025, in his home. Born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, on April 18, 1958, to Charles and Melba (Alford) Lovins, Hugh lived a life full of love and dedication. On January 8, 2000, he married Debra L. Caudill, who survives him.

Hugh graduated from Switzerland High School in Vevay, Indiana, and attended Ivy Tech College. He worked with Pioneer Packaging for 30 years and owned and operated Deb’s Laundry for 25 years. Hugh had a passion for walking trails, traveling, and spending time in his garage working on tractors.

He is survived by his wife, Debra L. Lovins of Fairmount; siblings, Anita (Rick) Hamilton of Bennington, Larry Dean (Robin) Lovins of Salem, Shauna Poynter of Versailles, and Pam (Carl) of Vevay; daughter, Cathy (Darren) Clay of Marion; sons, Tony (Amber) Woodmansee of Summitville and Stephen (Bridget) Caudill of Marion; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; half-brothers, Charles Lovins of Versailles and Robert Lovins of OH; nieces and nephews, Angie Hutchison, Jerry Hamilton, Candie Herring, Derick Lovins, Brian Lovins, Jerimiah Lovins, and Larry Lovins; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 5 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Hugh was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Lovins, and his mother, Melba Lovins.

The family will receive visitors from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Services, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Hugh’s life will begin at 11:30 am with Pastor Tony Woodmansee officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
