Ina "Jean" Olsen Waymire, 94, Gas City, met her Lord and Savior at 8:00 pm on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Saturday, January 18, 1930, to Arther and Rita (Maunder) Brandenburg. She married Robert Waymire on April 25, 1987.
She retired from the VA hospital after 28 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her children, David Olsen, Claudia Ferguson, Kevin Olsen; step-children, Jarrel Waymire, Dennis Waymire, Stephen Waymire, Linda Murphy, Cynthia Merritt, Shirley McLerrin; grandchildren, Brent Ferguson, Harmony Ary, Brandy Hurd, Andrea Olsen, Eric Olsen; and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Waymire; son, Paul Olsen; grandson, Hoyt Olsen.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Services 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Jean's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Murphey and Dennis Waymire officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
