Investigators documented large amounts of trash and debris, dirty dishes, dirty clothing, and numerous cockroaches and flying insects throughout the home. Authorities said bugs were even found inside the infant’s car seat.

Family members reportedly described the dog as gentle with the baby but acknowledged it had a history of aggression toward other animals and had bitten people before. Court records indicate concerns about the dog’s behavior had been discussed prior to the fatal attack.

Following the incident, the Huntington County Health Department determined the residence was not fit for human habitation and ordered occupants to vacate the property.

The dog, “Chomp,” was removed from the home and taken to the Huntington County Animal Shelter. Officials reported the dog showed no signs of rabies or unusual medical conditions while in custody. The dog was later euthanized.

All six defendants are being held at the Huntington County Jail as the case moves through the court system.

The death of the infant remains a heartbreaking tragedy for the family and the Huntington County community.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block;text-align:center"
        data-ad-format="autorelaxed"
        data-ad-client="0531879237494766"
        data-ad-slot="9212395598"></ins>

HUNTINGTON COUNTY, IN- A Huntington County investigation has resulted in six people being charged following the death of 7-day-old Jason A.
