The Kia proceeded to spin and come to rest in the southbound travel lane,<br>facing north. While the driver of the Kia was on the phone with 911, a southbound Jeep<br>Cherokee failed to see the disabled vehicle and struck the Kia head-on. The driver of the Kia was<br>ejected from the vehicle and came to rest along the side of the roadway. The Jeep continued a<br>short distance before coming to rest in the southbound passing lane. A fourth vehicle, a Dodge Ram<br>1500, was following behind the previously mentioned vehicles and was able to avoid striking the<br>Kia but sideswiped the Jeep. The passenger vehicles were all disabled as a result of the<br>collisions. The occupants of the semi and Ram were medically cleared at the scene. The driver of<br>the Jeep was transported by EMS to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Kia was transported by<br>Parkview Samaritan to a nearby hospital. Poor visibility and adverse weather are suspected<br>contributing factors in the crash.
