Poise. Advocacy. One Hoosier Airman is taking \u2018role-model\u2019 to a new level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Eniola Oke, 49th Aerial Port Squadron cargo representative, earned the crown and title of Miss Indiana during the Miss Indiana USA 2026 pageant at Noblesville High School, Indiana, June 28, 2026. The 2026 finals competition marked the 75th anniversary of the prestigious pageant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oke made history as the first Air Force service member to be crowned Miss Indiana USA. As the winner, she will have the opportunity to travel statewide for various appearances, events, and media features, as well as serving as an ambassador for official charities. For Oke, it was the perfect way to finish out her first pageant competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis win means more than a crown or a title to me,\u201d Oke said. \u201cIt is an opportunity to show that young Airmen can take up leadership positions and be role models.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Service has been a cornerstone of Oke\u2019s trajectory. As a first-generation college student, she is currently pursuing her degree in Community Health at Indiana University, with the goal of continuing to serve others as a Physician Assistant Officer in the Air Force. But she is not stopping there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oke\u2019s interest in pageantry extends far beyond the glitz and glam of the stage. To her, the stage serves as a platform for advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis is about using your platform to advocate for a cause you care about,\u201d Oke noted. \u201cThis is what led me to compete in this pageant system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a student, she founded the Military Outreach Society, a student-led organization at Indiana University that focuses on service and community-building to connect military affiliated students, veterans, and their families. She plans to spread awareness about military mental health resources and support available for these communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oke credits her passion for service as a key contributor leading her to compete in the pageant. While the fashion interested her, she sees pageantry as more than beauty and poise. And as a \u201cproud Nigerian-American\u201d hoping to break these outdated stereotypes, her goal is to use the platform to advocate for what matters most to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI hope to continue to be an advocate for veterans and their family members,\u201d Oke said during the competition. \u201cAnd I want to be an inspiration for young girls. It doesn\u2019t matter where you come from. You can absolutely achieve anything you put your mind to.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting back on what she has learned since joining the military about three years ago, she noted the importance of putting forth one\u2019s best effort. She described what it meant to wear the uniform and noted her gratitude for her journey in the Air Force and those supporting her along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m so proud of Senior Airman Oke for being crowned Miss Indiana USA,\u201d said Chief Master Sgt. Bradley Frank, 49th APS manager. \u201cShe has proven herself to be a dependable Airman of integrity. I look forward to her future endeavors and the impact she has on future Airmen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Like anything in the military, mission success takes a team. While thanking her support system, Oke extended her gratitude to the members of her unit and highlighted the leadership of the 49th APS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHaving mentors that always inspire me to do better as an Airman is something that has pushed me through the most challenging times,\u201d Oke said. \u201cIt really means a lot to me knowing that I have that family of support back at the base.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moving forward, Oke will continue her duties at the Hoosier Wing as usual.
