She was born on August 19, 1938, in Wabash, Indiana, to Clyde and Dorothy (Miller) Colclesser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Betty, a 1956 graduate of Urbana High School, devoted more than three decades to caring for children through her work at her in-home daycare, a role that reflected her gentle spirit and unwavering patience. She was a faithful member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ, grounding her life in community and service. Betty loved attending the Indiana State Fair with her companion Gene, and at home she found joy in watching westerns, sports, and especially IndyCar Racing, proudly following her favorite driver, Al Unser, Jr. She also enjoyed golf, cheering for Tiger Woods with enthusiasm. A lifelong animal lover, Betty supported the charity Furry Fix with heartfelt dedication. Above all her passions, nothing meant more to her than her family-most especially her grandchildren, who were the center of her world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is survived by three children: Michael (Sharon) Benson of Union Mills, Indiana, Brenda Draper of Wabash, and Brian (Jill) Benson of Ponte Vedra, Florida; grandchildren: David (Jami) Benson, Amber (Steve) Schroeder, Devann (George) Varela, Sofia (Thomas Farless) Draper, and Anastasia (Perry) Walker; great-grandchildren: Shane, Chase, Seth, David O., Sage, and Grayson; two special girls in her life: Erin Whetstone, and Kyleigh Brown; close family friend, Teresa Sargent, and her cat, Peanut. She was preceded in death by her parents, and companion, Eugene &#8220;Gene&#8221; Carroll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Funeral services will be private.
