Jack Lavengood Vrooman, 89, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 5:15 am, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born on May 6, 1935, in Wabash, to Myrval E. and Bessie M. (Lavengood) Vrooman.
Jack was a 1953 graduate of Wabash High School. He married Carolyn J. Petterson in Wabash on October 17, 1953. Jack was a longtime farmer and a member of the Wabash Christian Church. He enjoyed all sports, golfing, and attending the kids and grandkids activities and ball games.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Vrooman of Wabash; four children, Teresa (Tom) Ehret of Westfield, Indiana, M.J. (Lori) Vrooman, Amy (Doug) Kroft, and Nathan (Ashli) Vrooman, all of Wabash; 11 grandchildren, Jason (Alisha) Ehret, Brandon Ehret, Nicholas (Rosette) Ehret, Tiffany Ehret, Tyler (Laura) Kroft, Kristin (Jon) Goodrich, Cody Kroft, Zac Vrooman, Luke (Kyle) Vrooman, Nate (Kate) Vrooman, and Austin Vrooman; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Quinneth Lance of Florida, and brother-in-law, Lawrence Denney of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Beverly Denney, and daughter-in-law Veronica Vrooman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Ron Zorn officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 12-2 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.
