James David "Dave" Huffman, 57, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:57 pm, Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the Waters of Wabash West. He was born on March 7, 1967, in Wabash, to James G. Huffman and Reva (Fields) Johnson.
Dave was a 1985 graduate of Oak Hill High School and was part of the 1983 State Football Championship Team. He attended Ball State University. Dave worked at GDX in Wabash for more than 17 years and also worked at General Motors in Fort Wayne. He was a member of the Kosciusko Free Will Baptist Church. Dave was an avid Indiana University Basketball and Miami Dolphins fan, enjoyed riding his Harley, visiting the beach and Nashville, Tennessee, and attending sporting events. He cherished his daughter and his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Austin) Wise of Kokomo, Indiana; four grandchildren, Lakelinn Brown, Addisyn Wise, Fowlen Wise, and Trexler Wise; father and step-mother, James G. (Catherine) Huffman of Hartford City, Indiana, step-father, Floyd Johnson, of Silver Lake, Indiana, four sisters, Holly Tenhundfeld of Cincinnati, Ohio, Berneda (Randy) Runkel of Claypool, Indiana, Tonya (LaMonte) Rhoades of Columbia City, Indiana, and Deanna (David) Anderson of Warsaw, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reva Johnson, and his best friends Randy Shepherd Jr. and Jon Hudson.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 1-3 pm Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Preferred memorial is Riley Children's Hospital.
