Jay W Esslinger, 89, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, died at 7:45 am, Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Millers Merry Manor in Marion. He was born on March 29, 1935, in New Market, Alabama, to Andrew David and Sue Ella (Ivey) Esslinger.
He is survived by his children; Deborah S. Jackson of West Baden Springs, Indiana, Jack W. (Donna) Esslinger and Jill A. (James) Smith, both of Wabash, and Joseph W. (Peggy) Esslinger of Converse, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Amy (Jeff) Porter, Andrew (Paula) Bartoo, Lori (Scott) Turner, Scott Martin, Michelle (Chuck) Mosley, Jason (Contessa) Esslinger, and J.B. (Kara) Esslinger; 13 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Jean Esslinger, four brothers and four sisters, and grandson, Ryan Esslinger.
Services will be private. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.

Jay was one of the best humans I’ve ever known. Always smiling and always a kind word for everyone.
