Jean A. Finicle, 92, of Marion, passed away at 10:15 am on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. She was born in Porterville, California, on Thursday, March 10, 1932, to Hinton and Belle (Soare) Riley. On June 10, 1958, she married Ralph C. Finicle, Jr., who preceded her in death on May 25, 2002.
In the ’50s, Jean moved to Detroit, where she worked as a phone operator. Later, she moved to the Peru area and worked at PX at Grissom Air Force Base. She met her husband, Ralph, and later moved to Marion. Jean worked at Ball Stores in Marion for several years. She loved reading and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her son, Wade A. (Brenda) Finicle of Marion; daughter, Tina Finicle of Marion; grandchildren, Kenny Boyer, Zakk Boyer, Kira-Marie (Andrew) Turner, and Wade A. (Elizabeth) Finicle, Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Ryder Turner, Tegan Turner, Emery Finicle, and Josephine Finicle.
In addition to her loving husband, Ralph, Jean was preceded in death by her father, Hinton S. Riley; mother, Belle Riley; and great-grandson, Wade A. Finicle, III.
A graveside service for Jean will take place at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Grant Memorial Park, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN.
