Jean (Epperson) Jennings

Jean (Epperson) Jennings, 86, Marion, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Robbins, Tennessee, on Friday, March 18, 1938, to Henry Epperson and Mary “Gwendolyn” (Owens) Copeland.  On July 20, 1959, she married Arthur C. and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.

 

She worked as a bookkeeper for H&R Block and another CPA office in Marion. A dedicated member of Liberty Chapel in Amboy, she found joy in oil painting and cherished her time with her husband, traveling and engaging in missionary work during their international trips. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur C. Jennings; children, Vanessa Bockover, Jennifer Cox, and Karen Jennings; and daughter-in-law, Maria Kerr Jennings; grandchildren D. Patrick (Samantha) Bockover, Andrew (Melanie) Bockover, Dustin (Erica) Cox, Bradley Cox, and Alicia (Derek) Pierce; great grandchildren, Gwendolyn Bockover, Daniel T. Bockover, Nora Bockover, Holden Bockover, Damian Cox, Gemma Pierce, and Iris Pierce; two brothers, Alvin Epperson and Nelson Epperson; sister-in law, Janett Brown Epperson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry D. Epperson; mother, Mary “Gwendolyn” (Owens) Copeland; son, Phillip Jennings; son-in-law, Dan Bockover; 7 sisters, 2 brothers; and 9 great-grandchildren who were born into heaven.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 as well as 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

A funeral service to celebrate Jean’s life will begin at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Walden officiating. Entombment will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
