JEAN Team Drug Task Force makes two arrests in connection to investigation involving illegal drug trafficking

GRANT COUNTY, IN- On Sunday, 01/01/2025, The JEAN Team Drug Task Force made two arrests in connection to an investigation involving illegal drug trafficking into Grant County. A red Dodge Dakota was stopped based off two different infractions that its driver committed just outside Gas City, IN. The vehicle was stopped, and a Police K9 was used to sniff the exterior during the stop. The K9 indicated drugs on the vehicle, and approximately 27.7 grams of fentanyl and two syringes were located within it. The driver and owner of the vehicle, Nathan R. Strasser, 42, and Ashlee Crews, 32, were subsequently taken in for questioning and arrested at the Grant County Jail.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Nathan was currently out on bond for Dealing in Methamphetamine as a Level 2 Felony (cause #27C01-2212-F2-000046) and also for Possession of a Syringe, Level 6 Felony (cause #27C01-2211-F6-000772). Nathan Strasser was booked into the Grant County Jail for the following charges:

Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug w/ Intent to Deliver, Level 2 Felony
Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Level 6 Felony

Further, it was determined that Ashlee Crews was wanted on three outstanding warrants. She is wanted for Nonsupport of a Dependent Child, Level 6 Felony, through Adams Circuit Court (cause #01C01-2405-F6-000054), Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Level 6 Felony, through Grant Circuit Court (cause #27C01-2208-F6-000544), and also for Operating a Vehicle w/ Alcohol Concentration of .15 or more (cause #35D01-1910-CM-000746). Lastly, during the course of this investigation, it was discovered that Ashlee was also on Grant County Probation for Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, Level 6 Felony, with no “Risk Level” rating until 12/22/2025.
