Jeanette Miller Lahman

Jeanette Miller Lahman, 96, of North Manchester, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2024, at her Timbercrest home. Born on June 2, 1928 in Dixon, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Miller and Mary Smith Miller. Jeanette graduated from Franklin Grove High School in 1946 and earned a degree from Manchester College in 1950. She married Robinson Diehl Lahman in 1951, and together they raised four children on their family farm in Franklin Grove, Illinois. During the 1970s, Jeanette and Robin welcomed exchange students from around the world who have remained cherished friends and led to many international trips over the years. An active member of both the Franklin Grove Church of the Brethren and the Manchester Church of the Brethren, Jeanette was deeply involved in church activities, particularly music, which nourished her spirit from a young age to the day she passed. Known for her boundless energy and enthusiasm, Jeanette was a vibrant presence in the lives of those who knew her, always with a passion for hosting events, playing games, gathering with family, leading singing, texting her grandchildren, or taking a plate of cookies to her neighbors. Jeanette will be dearly missed by her family, including her sister Audra Horning of Farmington, PA; Her children John (Deborah, deceased) Lahman of Peoria, AZ; Mary (David) Lahman Sollenberger of Annville, PA and North Manchester, IN; David (Mary) Lahman of North Manchester; and Barbara (Gary Hogle) Lahman of Fort Wayne, IN. She was a cherished grandmother to Ang (Jerry), Andy (Andrea), Aaron (Sara); Joshua (Shannon), Micah (Samantha), Christina (Davis); Kristen (Neil), Kyle; Shane (Marie), Joel (Nellie); and a proud great-grandmother to fourteen great-grandchildren: Elena, Dasan, Grant, Bennett, Reese, Arne, Maribel, Simeon, Finnegan, George, Ezra, Adeline, Hazel, and Graham. Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robin. A memorial service will be held at the Manchester Church of the Brethren on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Manchester Church of the Brethren, Timbercrest Senior Living Community Charitable Assistance Program, or the Jeanette M.
