Jerry L. Clark, 79, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 11, 2024.
Jerry was born on July 14, 1945 in Ramer, Tennessee to parents John A. Clark and Gertrude (Martin) Bendall. Growing up in the hollers of the south, Jerry spent a lot of time with his brothers and sisters; Tommy Clark, Bobbie Joe Bendall, George Clark, John Clark Jr, Johnnie Marie Spencer, Billie Jo Stewart, Jane Hunt, Mary Abbot, and Donna Rice.
After moving to Peru, Jerry started his own business, Clark's Roofing, which he owned and operated for nearly 45 years. He was married to Beth Ann Clark, who passed away in 2015.
During retirement, Jerry enjoyed drinking black coffee, watching his favorite westerns, and NASCAR. He spent winters in Sebring Florida, and traveled to warmer weather as often as he could. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, including his long-time partner, Kathleen Clark.
Jerry is survived by his son Robert Clark, granddaughter Skylar Zinn and his two step children Leslie Havens and Bill Wilken, that he came to care and look at as his own, which gave him a large group of step grandchildren; Kayan ( Michael) Sommers, Jessica ( Ryan) Pearce, Marcus Wilken, Lauren (Tim Lehman) Phillips, Trace Wilken, step great grandchildren; Adalynn (Bug) Kintner, Athena Wilken, Zella Sue Sommers, Baylor Pearce, and Colby Pearce, that all loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beth, and siblings Tommy Clark and Billie Jo Stewart.
Visitation will be held at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home on Monday, September 16th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Services will follow. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana.
