Jerry Richard Hipsher

Jerry Richard Hipsher, 86, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:09 am, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.  He was born on March 4, 1938, in Wabash, to James Mack and Isabelle (Bussard) Hipsher.

Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Wabash High School and a member of the 1956 Wabash High School Basketball Regional Champs. He married Sandra L. Vrooman at the Wabash Christian Church on June 22, 1963; she died October 25, 2019. Jerry was co-owner of Hipsher Tool and Die in Wabash for 60 plus years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Kiwanis Club, both in Wabash, the Wildwood Tennis Club in Fort Wayne, and he served in the Indiana National Guard. Jerry played fastpitch softball until he was 60 years old.

He is survived by two daughters, Kari (Howard) Halderman of Wabash, and Kelli (Richard) Halderman of Carmel, Indiana; five grandchildren, Jenna (Zeke) Huls of North Manchester, Indiana, Jacki (Ryan) Berg of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joe Halderman of Wabash, Jeremiah Halderman of Carmel, and Jake Halderman of Wabash; brother, James Hipsher of Wabash; and his cat, Snowball. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Sandra Shroyer.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Nathan Whybrew officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 3-7 pm Monday, at the funeral home.
