Jerry Swihart, 83, of Peru passed away on March 23, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Sallyann, his sons Bart Swihart and Curtiss (Marjorie) Swihart, his daughter Lori (Charles) Sutton. Eight grandchildren, and four great-children. He is also survived by his brother Gaylord (Phyllis) Swihart, Jr.
Jerry was born on June 10th, 1941 to Gaylord and Lula Swihart in Gilead, Indiana. He was a graduate of Peru High School. On May 26th, 1962, he married Sallyann Greer.
Jerry’s hobbies included collecting model cars, flying radio controlled airplanes, ham radio, and spending time with his family.
Jerry’s visitation will be held from 4pm to 6pm at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 2pm on Monday, March 31, 2025. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father, his stepfather, Curtiss Bookwalter, and his sister, Mary Lou Swihart.
