Jesse Elsworth "Jay" Parrett III, 77, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:36 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1947, in Wabash, to Jesse E. Jr.and Katrina Irene (Miller) Parrett.
Jay was a 1965 graduate of Wabash High School, and a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He married Kathryn L. Pattison in Peru, Indiana on October 22, 1967. He worked as quality manager at Thermafiber in Wabash, retiring after 50 years. Jay was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15, and was a long time Wabash Little League coach. He was an avid IU and Green Bay Packer fan. Jay enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Parrett of Wabash; two sons, Jeff (Kathy) Parrett of Roann, Indiana, and Jason (Laurie Ihnen) Parrett of Wabash; five grandchildren, Shai (Aaron) Hartley of Wabash, Kaitlyn Parrett of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jaycee (Owen) Yeadon of Silver Lake, Indiana, Logan Parrett and Morgan Parrett, both of Roann; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Hartley of Wabash and Adler Yeadon, of Silver Lake; sister, Joyce Sanders of Wabash; and sister-in-law, Rosie Miller of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Miller, and his sister, Sue Ann Parrett.
Services will be private. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
