Jesse L. Cottrell, 63, of Marion, passed away at 6:09 pm on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Marion Health. He was born in Logansport, Indiana, on Wednesday, May 24, 1961, to Jesse and Garnett “Betty” (Taylor) Cottrell. On October 29, 1988, he married Brenda K. Peterson, and she preceded him in death on September 5, 2024.
Jesse graduated from Twin Lakes High School and was a mechanic throughout his life. He loved working on cars or really anything with his hands. Jesse enjoyed his family and especially took joy in loving on his grandkids.
Survivors include his sons, Chris (Michelle) Cottrell of Marion, Shaun (Angela) Logan of Kokomo, Brandon (Holly) Peterson of Gas City, and Jesse Paul Moore; grandchildren, Taylor, Dylon, Rilynn, Michael, Jessilynn, Nevaeh, Sophie, Schyler, Kaidence, Noah, Braydon, Chase, and Alexia; brothers, Barry (Debbie) Cottrell and Larry (Faye) Cottrell; sisters, Ann (late Dennis) Pitcher, Jessica “Tinker” (Jim) Cottrell, Melva Murphy, and Margret “Peanut” (late Jack) Cripps; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda K. Cottrell; father, Jesse Cottrell; mother, Garnett “Betty” Cottrell; and sisters, Brenda Cottrell and Delores Agee.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Jesse’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Paul Bravard officiating.
