JoAnn Corn, 88, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 7:46 am, Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Parkview Wabash Hospital.  She was born on April 13, 1935, in Wabash, to Maynard Widmeyer and Gladys (Hale) Maderia.

JoAnn was a 1953 graduate of Wabash High School. She married Lester Roy Corn in Lagro, Indiana on July 5, 1952; he died January 22, 2003. JoAnn was the mother of 9 children. She worked at Hoosier Point Restaurant in Wabash, Essex Wire in Andrews, and drove school bus for MSD of Wabash County, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of the Lagro Fellowship Hall, and the Lagro American Legion Auxiliary #248.  

She is survived by two children, Bob (Nancy) Corn of Lagro, and Sheryl (Bryan) Wright of Woodbridge, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; half brother and half sisters, Jim (Jenita) Widmeyer and Joan Parkison, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Judy (Jim) Trowbridge of New Haven, Indiana, and Janet Lynch of Fort Wayne.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 sons, Dan, David, Gary, and Mark Corn, and three daughters, Debra, Diane, and Roxy Corn.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, January 8, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may visit from 2-5 pm Sunday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Lagro Fellowship Hall or Lagro Canal Foundation.
