John Anthony Frantz, 62, of Marion, passed away at 1:28 am on Monday, March 31, 2025, in his home. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on April 11, 1962, to Max and Virginia (Wheeler) Frantz. On September 11, 1989, he married Lori L. (Owings), and she preceded him in death on August 11, 2009.
John graduated from Bennett Catholic High School (Marion) and was a manager for 18 years with Waylon’s Bar, retiring in 2024. He was a huge Cardinals fan, enjoyed fishing, golf, playing softball, and he loved people and telling stories. John will be remembered for his big heart, smile, and sense of humor. Most of all, he loved his wife and son.
John is survived by his son, Evan D. Frantz of Marion; brother, Michael (Becci) Frantz of Carmel; sisters, Patti McMillan of Marion, Terrie (Phil) Turner of McCordsville, Kathie (Steve) Carter of Fishers, and Mary (Michael) Harrington of Westfield; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Max Frantz, and mother, Virginia A. Frantz.
In accordance with the family’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
