John married Rose Mary on February 27, 1954.
He was a Machinist Mate 1st Class in the United States Navy.
John enjoyed antique cars, tractors, and camping, and he was an avid John Wayne fan.
Survivors include 5 children; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, two sisters, one son, and two grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately after visitation, a service to celebrate John’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating.
John will be carried to his final resting place by: Debby Waller, Ken Waller, Wes Transier (grandson), Tammy Johnson, Josiah Johnson (grandson), and Josh Thompson (grandson).
