Joni Lynn Neeley, 63, Marion, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on September 10, 1960, to Philip and Helen (Purvis) Kellogg.
Joni graduated from Marion High School. She worked at Kmart when she first met Roy, and they were married on June 11, 1983. Joni also worked at Dunham's Distribution Center and Walmart Distribution Center in the production and receiving departments.
Joni will be remembered as a faithful woman. She and Roy attended Westview Wesleyan Church. If she was unable to attend church, she watched it on television. Her grandmother, Ida, played a huge role in her life. She taught her how to be a mother and caretaker for her family. Joni loved her family and loved cooking for them. She was a wonderful cook! Joni was the kind of individual that when she put her mind to do something, she was determined to do it.
Joni loved and always looked forward to their vacation to Florida. She enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, playing cards, and especially playing Bingo. She also loved watching game shows on television. Joni was an animal lover and she loved her dog, Max, and her daughter's dog, Chopo.
In addition to her loving husband of 40 years, survivors include her children, Travis (Megan) Neeley and Mandy Neeley; grandchildren, Hayden and Kadyn; siblings, Keith (Peggy) Kellogg and Jeff (Linda) Kellogg; step-brother, Steve Sloan; step-sister, Jill (Tracy) Kilgore; sister-in-law, RaeJean Sloan; step-mother, Jackie Kellogg; three sisters-in-law who thought the world of her, Teresa Waggoner, Marcia Lichtsinn, and Beth Rajcany; special friend, Cathy Smith; and several extended family members, work friends, and church friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Ida Kellogg; step-brother, Mark Sloan; cousins, Robin and Pam; aunt, Shirley; nieces, Kellee Kellogg and Jasmine Sloan; great-niece, Kaeleigh Kellogg; friend, Bud Smith; father- and mother-in-law, Harry (Ada) Neeley; and brother-in-law, Frank Rajcany.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Joni's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ryan Budde officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
