Joseph Bradford Alford, 92, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 4:55 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in LaFontaine, Indiana, on Saturday, July 18, 1931, to Lavern and Thurza (Benson) Alford. On February 11, 1956, he married Connie L. Carmin, and she survives.
Joseph was a factory worker for 42 years, working at Owens-Illinois and SCM during those years. He was an avid woodworker. He loved the game of basketball and would watch all kinds of teams. He especially enjoyed following IU and University of Tennessee.
In addition to his loving wife of 68 years, survivors include his children, Cathy Ann (Chuck) Millen of CO, Larry Joe Alford of Marion, and Terri Lynn Alford of Marion; grandchildren, Lee Ann (Chris Grivalsky) Millen of CA, Mike (Kiley) Millen of CO, and Ashley Kabrich of Marion; and great-grandchildren, Addy, Alayna, Emma, Cole, and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half-brother, Leon Alford; half-sister, Doris Rudicel; and grandson, Craig Alford.
Entombment will take place at Gardens of Memory, 11201 S. Marion Rd.-35, Marion, IN, at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2024. Pastor Gary Bingham will be officiating.
