Josephine  M. Harms

Josephine  M. Harms, 87, of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, went to be with her Lord at 10:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2024, at Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester.  She was born on December 23, 1936, in Disney, Kentucky, to Roy and Ludie (Madden) Monroe.

Josephine married Hans Harms in Huntington, Indiana on October 31, 1985. She worked at K-Mart in Huntington several years and also worked at Wabash Magnetics. Josephine was a longtime member of the Christian Heritage Church in Wabash, and she also belonged to the Laketon Lions Club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.  

She is survived by her husband, Hans Harms of North Manchester; four children, Michelle Campbell Cordell of Cleveland, Texas, Sherry Mossman of Sebastian, Florida, Timothy Campbell of Nappanee, Indiana, and Karen (Stu) Tuttle of Coldwater, Mississippi; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; twelve brothers and sisters, Virginia Mary Ruth (Bruce) Whiteneck of Warsaw, Indiana, Bernice Ballew of Orlando, Florida, Louise Lawshe of Orlando, Florida, Barbara (Tim) Prater of Wabash, Clarissa (Charlie) Poe of Melbourne, Florida, Thomas Monroe of Wabash, Hershel (Eileen) Monroe of Andrews, Indiana, Don Monroe of Wabash, Roy Monroe, Jr. of Peru, Indiana, Orville (Liz) Monroe of Wabash, Jerry (Susie) Monroe of Leesburg, Indiana, and Larry (Connie) Monroe of Wabash.  She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Alene Monroe; sister, Viola Gilbert; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Christian Heritage Church, 2776 River Road, Wabash, with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 12-2 pm Thursday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.

Preferred memorial is Christian Heritage Church.
