Julia Ann Jacoby

Julia Ann Jacoby, 92, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:50 a.m., on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born on May 24, 1932, in Wabash, to Hugh J. and M. Gladys (Archibald) Shillinger.

Julia was a 1950 graduate of Linlawn High School. She married James I. Jacoby in Wabash on February 2, 1951; he died June 30, 2011. Julia worked at P.S.I. later Duke Energy 26 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Wabash Christian Church and the Rebecca Circle of the Church. She also belonged to the Wabash Arts Club and was a cub scout den mother. Julia enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, and loved spending time with her family and friends. She also loved to play euchre at the Wabash Senior Center. Her favorite motto was; "It is what it is".

She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Brenda) Jacoby of Wabash, Joe (Jan) Jacoby of Rochester, Minnesota, and daughter Janet (Joe Lester) VerMaas of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren, Matt (Laura) Jacoby of Wabash, Amber Edwards of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jessica Jacoby and James Jacoby, both of Rochester, Minnesota, Melanie (Kevin) Beaver of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Michael Reed of Dayton, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Kennedy (Ryan Stace) Reed of Van Buren, Indiana, Sean Beaver and Ian Beaver, both of Terre Haute, Jackson Jacoby of Wabash, and Ryott Edwards of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and great-great-grandson, Quinn Stace of Van Buren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Sierra Edwards, and sister Doris Schnar.
   
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Wabash Christian Church, 110 W. Hill Street, Wabash, with Rev. Ron Zorn officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery, Roann.  Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. 

Preferred memorial is the Animal Shelter of Wabash County.
