Kathryn, 88, passed on peacefully at home with her family on September 29, 2024. She was born to Thurman and Ethel (Casterline) Pattison on November 21, 1935. Kathryn married Pete McPherson on November 27, 1953, and they began their life together.
Kathryn graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1953. As her children entered school, she worked as a teacher’s assistant. At the age of forty, Kathryn began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. It was a good pairing with her caring and compassionate spirit. Kathryn was a life long member of First Christian Church in Gas City. She loved the years she spent with her Christian Women’s Fellowship friends. Kathryn enjoyed Western movies, reading, wood crafts with Pete, needlework, sewing, baking pies and time with her brother, Bud, through the years. She often voiced how blessed she was to have such wonderful memories with family and friends.
Along with her parents, Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, Pete. Survivors include; her brother, Thurman “Bud” Pattison of Avon Park, FL; her children Rob (Debra) McPherson of West Lafayette, Karen (Jim) Beckley of Palatine, IL and Roger (Connie) McPherson of Gas City; her seven grandchildren, Jessica Louks, Robert McPherson, Caitlin McPherson, Matthew Beckley, Emily Franz, John Paul McPherson and Patrick McPherson; her seventeen great grandchildren, Natalie, Ian, Sullivan, Samiya, Roland, Harrison, Grant, Benjamin, Emmett, Jude, Adalyn, Elijah, Jadon, Elyssa, Titus, Beckham and Briggs. She was truly a GREAT Grandma Kate.
Kathryn was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, friend and confidant. She will be deeply missed, sweetly remembered and always in our hearts.
