Katie Vanlandingham, 94, formerly of Wabash, Indiana, died at 12:18 am, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her home in Pendleton, Indiana. She was born on March 18, 1930, in Pendleton, Kentucky, to Henry James and Fannie (Darosett) Tucker.
Katie was a 1949 graduate of Roann High School in Roann, Indiana. She retired as the bookkeeper at Wilkinson Lumber Company in Wabash, and also worked at Sears and Roebuck in Wabash, several years. Katie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed gardening, especially flower gardening, antiquing, cooking, upholstering, and taking drives. She also enjoyed hunting bittersweet and mushrooms, being outdoors, and sitting on the porch and drinking her coffee.
She is survived by her daughter, Renee Vanlandingham and her granddaughter, Katelin Vanlandingham, both of Pendleton, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Vanlandingham; brother, Orville Clay Tucker; and her sister, Laura May Ross.
Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. There will be a Celebration of Katie’s life on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at her daughter Renee’s home in Pendleton. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
