L. Keith Prickett, 80, of Marion, passed away in his home at 7:49 am on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Marion. He was born in Peru, Indiana, on March 13, 1944, to Eldo and Velma (Kling) Prickett. On November 9, 2002, he married Kaye “Kayla” Reed.
Keith was a truck driver for 23 years with Red Gold, retiring after 64 years in the transportation industry. He enjoyed sports such as basketball, football, and baseball, riding his Harley, horses, and spending time with his dog, Nikita. He loved hauling grain and enjoyed old western movies and old country music.
The family would like to especially thank all the staff at Heartland Hospice, Dr. Kavita Raj, Dr. Edmond Bendaly, and all the nurses and staff at Progressive Cancer Care.
Survivors include his wife, Kaye “Kayla” Prickett of Marion; sons, Brian (Nancy) Prickett of Columbia City and Tony Prickett of Huntington; daughters, Teresa (Don) Douglas of Columbia City and Crystal (Rafael) Martinez of Columbia City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; great-granddaughter and caretaker, Avynn Montgomery; brother, Eldo Xen Prickett of Peru; and special friends, Dave Griggs and Bob Younce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldo and Velma Prickett; son, Kerry Joe Sumner; sister-in-law, Susie Prickett; step-father, Bob Brown, Sr.; and step-brothers, Bob Brown, Jr., and Steven Brown.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Keith’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Converse Cemetery.
