Linda C. Chesnut, 75, of Marion, passed away at 10:35 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born in Hot Springs, Virginia, on Monday, October 31, 1949, to James and Rose (Williamson) Ailstock. On September 4, 2001, she married Morris Chesnut, who survives.
Linda worked 35 years with General Motors. She loved to play golf, hunt, and fish. She participated in Crappie Tournaments with her husband in 17 different states. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. Linda would help anyone in need, always looking for the best in people and praying for everyone. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, spending time with her family, playing Euchre, and caring for her dogs, Frisky, Cody, and Gus, and her cats, Sky and Tiger. She also enjoyed watching basketball, football, and baseball. Linda was a member of the UAW and was active at Arbor Trace for many years.
Linda is also survived by her daughters, Sherri Keyser and April (Charles, Jr.) Morrical; step-daughter, Leah Price; grandchildren, Nicholas Timmons, Ashlyn Morrical, Karson Morrical, and Weston Morrical; step-grandchildren, Cody Chesnut, Nathan Chesnut, Calvin Chesnut, Ian Price, and Evan Price; step-great-grandson, Walker Reece Chesnut; brothers, James H. Ailstock and Bart (Sue) Ailstock; sisters, Edna (Rod) Strickler and Marcie Allen; brother-in-law, Darrell Chestnut; sister-in-law, Sherry Ailstock; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Mason Ailstock; mother, Rose Edna Ailstock; step-son, Leon Chesnut; step-daughter, Jennifer Chesnut; brother, Thomas Ailstock; sisters, Mattie Chesnut and Donna Sue Ailstock; brother-in-law, Lewis Allen; sister-in-law, Diane Ailstock; niece, Donna Sue Hepler; and cousin, Benny Campbell.
At Linda’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
