Linda Carol Hicks Spencer

Linda Carol Hicks Spencer, of Bunker Hill, Indiana, and Nassau County, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2024. Born on November 26, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, to Minerva and Greeley Hicks, Linda carried fond memories of her Kentucky roots throughout her life.

Linda never met a stranger and always saw the best in everyone. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all. Linda and her husband, James Spencer Jr., shared over 50 years of marriage, raising their children and grandchildren with love and devotion between their homes in Bunker Hill and Nassau County.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Spencer Jr.; her sons, Jackie Eckelbarger, Richard Spencer, Grover Eckelbarger, and Shawn Spencer; her 15 grandchildren; and her 6 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Tommy Spencer.

Linda was a proud Democrat, dedicating her time and passion to her party and community. Though a successful business owner, her greatest joy was her family and the love they shared.

A service will be held at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana, on Friday, October 4, 2024 with family greeting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. and a service at 6:00 p.m. Information about services and sending flowers can be found at www.flowersleedyallen.com.
