Linda Jean Tilley, 75, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 9:50 am, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born on January 9, 1948, in Wabash, to Jim R. and Betty Lou (Knee) Smith.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of Southwood High School, and graduate of Indiana Wesleyan, formerly Marion College. She married Michael Tilley in Peru, Indiana on July 28, 1991. Linda was a retired nurse and health care administrator for Vernon Manor Childrens Home in Wabash. She was a member of the Wabash Church of Christ. Linda loved spending time with all of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, golfing, and bowling. Her former bowling team was the Pin Monkeys.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Tilley of Wabash; three sons, Jim (Gloria) Winget, Thomas Winget, and Robert (Elizabeth) Winget, all of Wabash; stepson, Michael Ray (Jeanine) Tilley of Peru; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and her sister, Shirley Long of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Connie Graham.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Brad Wright officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
