Linda Johnson

Linda Johnson, 77, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:47 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at her home. She was born on September 6, 1947, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Elzie and Eula (Daniel) Ward.

Linda was a graduate of Lenore High School in Lenore, West Virginia. She was a homemaker and also worked at Sharp Creek Elementary and Heckman Bindery in North Manchester. Linda married Byron Lee Johnson on August 22, 1970 at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Somerset, Indiana. She was a member of Lincolnville Community Church and also a member of Northeast Indiana Classic Car Club. Linda enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing, golfing, traveling, and going to car shows.

She is survived by her husband, Byron Lee Johnson of Wabash, two children, Austin Johnson of Wabash, and Elaine (Jason) Goss of White Pigeon, Michigan, three grandchildren; Trinity (Michael) Houser and Teajen Johnson, both of Wabash, and Kierstin Goss of White Pigeon, great-grandchild, Remington Houser of Wabash, and three sisters; Judy (Marvin) Hoeksema of Elsworth, Michigan, and Mary Whitt and Sherrie (Eddie) Spence, both of Lenore, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers; Walter Ward, Elzie Ward, Jr., and Ray Ward.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor John Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Somerset.  Friends may call 4:00 pm – 7:00 Monday, at the funeral home.
