Linda Sue Thompson, 74, a beloved woman, devoted to her family and her feline companions, peacefully passed away on May 24, 2024 at St Vincent. Her departure leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
Born October 12, 1949 in Fleming, KY to Tolliver and Dorothy (Dalton) Donaldson, Linda lived a life guided by love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her family and Jesus. Her warm smile, infectious laugh, and endless love touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda graduated from Marion High School in 1967. She worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Thompson trucking, and had worked at RCA in her younger years.
Linda was an avid church goer and attended Sunnycrest Baptist and The River church when she was able.
Aside from her devotion to family, Linda had a special place in her heart for her furry friends. Her love for her cats and dogs was evident in the way she cared for them, showering them with affection and ensuring they were always comfortable and content.
Linda will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Thompson and her sons, Todd H. Kline and Bradley S. Kline; her sisters, Debra Owens, Sherry Townsend, and Shirley Wilson; brother; Don Donaldson; her step daughters, Regina Vance, Shannon Wilson and Kristy Thompson; her grandchildren, Albrey (Dustin) Joseph and Linzey Kline; step grandsons, Bobby and Nicki Cassidy; her great grand children, Elian and Romeo Vega and Ezekiel Joseph; step grandchildren, Amelia, Arora, Ariann, Zar, Maeleigh, and Rorik Cassidy; plus, several nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Tolliver and Dorothy; her sisters, Sherry Freel, Mary Ellen Estes, and Sandy Donaldson; and her granddaughter, Katie Kline.
A graveside celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date. Please join us as we honor and remember a remarkable woman who touched our lives in countless ways.
