Lorena Woodard, 94, of Marion, passed away at 4:58 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Marion. She was born in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, on Wednesday, July 2, 1930, to Marion and Jennie (Hornback) McKee. On March 10, 1959, she married Cleveland Woodard, Jr., and he preceded her in death on September 16, 2017.
Lorena was a homemaker throughout her life and faithfully served her husband and family. She loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies, enjoyed going to the casino, and had a passion for gardening, maintaining a large garden with the help of her brothers and sisters. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha (Bryan) Robinson of Athens, AL, and Rita May (Mike Gaskins) Smith of Marion; sister, Dorothy Finch of Flemingsburg, KY; grandchildren, Morgan (Dustin) Smith, Nicholas (Cassie) Smith, Tammi (Chris) Grathen, and Doug Wood; great-grandchildren, Brayden Grathen, Ian Wood, Eli Wood, Ethan Wood, Autumn Brown, and Hunter Brown; and brother-in-law, Donnie (Becky) Woodard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Woodard, Jr.; mother, Jennie McKee; father, Marion McKee; and son, Jeffrey Thomas Woodard.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the visitation, a service to celebrate Lorena’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
