Lorrie J. Walker, 65, of Gas City, passed away at 4:35 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Tuesday, June 9, 1959, to Arnold Walker and Marsha (Tutterow – Walker) Baugh. Lorrie graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1977 and attended Ball State University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s of Science. She worked for 40 years with Marion Health, retiring in 2023. Lorrie was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church, where she loved spending time with children and taught Sunday School. She was a great friend to Melissa Kesel, Faye Walmsley, and Marjorie Lesperance. Lorrie asked that we all stand for the flag, honor the fallen, help the wounded, and thank the living. Survivors include her brother, Dale (Rose) Walker of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Paula Walker; step-father, Kirt Baugh; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Walker and Marsha L. Walker-Baugh, and her brother, David Walker. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, October, 4, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. A funeral to celebrate Lorrie’s life will begin at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Eastview Wesleyan Church, 414 N. 10th St., Gas, IN 46933, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
