Man arrested on multiple felony charges

GRANT COUNTY, IN- On November 4, 2024, the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) received a report alleging child molestation, initiating a collaborative investigation involving Grant County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, Patrol Deputies, DCS personnel, and the assistance of the Grant County Prosecutors Office. The overnight investigation concluded with an arrest warrant issued by the Honorable Judge Mark Spitzer of the Grant County Circuit Court for Richard A. Jarvis III, age 40, on multiple charges:  

• Child Molesting – (3 counts) Level 1 Felony
• Sexual Misconduct with a Minor – (1 count) Level 4 Felony
• Incest – (1 count) Level 4 Felony

  Bond for Mr. Jarvis has been set at $200,000, cash, surety, and property. He is currently being held at the Grant County Security Complex.   The Grant County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with additional information related to this investigation or other crimes against children to come forward.
