Margaret Blades, 76, Marion, passed away at 9:30 am on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. She was born in Marion, Indiana, on Friday, April 30, 1948, to Edgar and Margaret (Price) Kegg.
Margaret worked as an Addictions Counselor at Hartford House and was a member of Brinker Heights Wesleyan Church. She was known for her love of reading her Bible, crocheting beautiful creations, cooking delicious meals, and taking long walks. She was an active member of her book club and filled the world with her beautiful singing. Her heart was big, especially for stray animals, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need. Chocolate was her favorite treat, bringing a sweet joy to her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever be in the hearts of her family and friends..
Survivors include her children, April T. (John) Henderson of Fairmount, Frederick L. (Michelle) Reed, Jr. of Marion, and Robert S. (Shane Laubach) Blades of Marion; brother, Michael R. Kegg of Fairmount; sister, Susie (Tony) Jorden of Converse; brother, George A. (Debra) Kegg of Warren; grandchildren, Brandon Lee Reed of Ft. Wayne, Kasey Reed of Bremen, Krista Reed of Terre Haute, Nicholas Reed of Lake Station, Brittney Cook of Marion; great grandchild, Sophia Brown; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar W. and Margaret Kegg; and sister-in-law, Roselea Kegg.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Margaret’s life will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
