Marion Police respond to Armed Robbery at McDonalds

MARION, Ind. – On May 29, 2019 at approximately 1:00 am, Marion Police responded to McDonalds North, located at 1225 North Baldwin Avenue for an Armed Robbery.

Upon officer’s arrival, McDonalds shift manager and two employees reported that the store had been robbed and that the suspect had fled the building.

Valarie Hoose, shift manager reported that she was attempting to do her nightly deposit when a man dressed in all black approached her in the office. Hoose advised that the suspect had a black handgun. The suspect demanded the deposit bag, removed the store’s landline phone and then fled out the back door of the restaurant.

The suspect is described as: a male, approx. 5’11, wearing a monkey mask, a red bandana, a black hooded sweatshirt, a pair of black jeans and black gloves.

It is unclear upon speaking with McDonalds’ employees as to how the suspect entered the restaurant. The restaurant closed at midnight. The suspect fled the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of currency.
