Marlen Lee Garrett, Sr.

Marlen Lee Garrett, Sr., 74, of Peru, Indiana, died at 1:58 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Parkview Health Randallia in Fort Wayne.  He was born on January 19, 1950, in Ada, Oklahoma, to Melvin Burgee Garrett and Lona V. Shepherd.

Marlen married Tammara S. Hampton in Hot Spring, Arkansas on September 12, 1984. He was a truck driver. Marlen was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Wabash American Legion Post 15. Marlen enjoyed collecting junk, gardening, talking to people, but most importantly spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Tammara S. Garrett of Peru, eight children, Paul Garrett, Tina Wood, and Shonda Schafer, all of Iowa, Marlon Garrett, Jr., Russell Garrett, and Timothy Garrett, all of Wabash, Thomas Garrett of Peru, and Tianne Mantle of Wabash, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and sister, Murlene Wolter of Watervliet, Michigan.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers.

There will be a celebration of life service at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
