Marsha Lynn Hartman, 67, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in her home. She was born on September 5, 1957, in Marion, Indiana, to Marshall and Kathleen (Gentry) Reed. After Marshall’s passing, Kathleen married Marvin Gulley who became a loving step-father to Marsha and a cherished part of her family. On February 14, 1981, she married Larry Dean Hartman, who preceded her in death.
Marsha attended Marion High School and dedicated her life to being a homemaker. She was known for her vibrant personality and was a beloved member of the Widow’s Warriors. Marsha had a passion for life; she was a “sun worshiper”, loved the ocean, enjoyed working in her yard, and cherished her time working with children at Westminster Preschool. She was also a devoted member of Bethel Worship Center and found joy in singing and caring for her family. Marsha will be remembered for her love of life, her dedication to her family, and her unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marsha is survived by her children, Ryan Dean Hartman of Marion, Justin Dean Hartman of Fort Wayne, Tennille Alfandre of Marion, and Olivia (Brad) Custer of Santan Valley, AZ. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Lance, Danica, Peyton, Lacey, Jorden (Andrew), Brady, and Riley; great-grandchildren, Abel and Tripp; her beloved dog, Cooper; her sister, Debbie Hodge of Marion; nephew, David Hodge of Gas City; niece, Angie Hodge of Marion; great-niece, Brittany Tackett; and sisters-in-law, Carol (Keith) Hardin and Betty Jo Jarvis.
Marsha was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Chad Hartman, and her parents, Marshall Reed and Kathleen (Marvin) Gulley.
The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Bethel Worship Center, 1715 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Marsha’s life will begin at 12:00 noon with Pastor Michael Henson officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Estates of Serenity.
