Mary Ellen Crandall, 73, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:28 pm, Monday, August 5, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on April 1, 1951, in Richmond, Indiana, to Paul and Dorothy J. (Clark) Rigsby.
Mary Ellen was a 1969 graduate of Marion High School. She married James R. Crandall in Greensfork, Indiana on August 31, 1974. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and watching television.
She is survived by her husband, James R. Crandall of Wabash; two sons, Jason Crandall and David Crandall, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; five grandchildren, Zack Crandall, Amber Tackett, Chelsea Madden, Jasmine Gertz, and Drew Gertz; and 12 great grandchildren; mother, Dorothy J. Rigsby of Connersville, Indiana; and her brother, Ray Rigsby of Hagerstown, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Rigsby.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday, August 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Shriner's Hospital for Children.
