Michael Charles Weibel

Michael Charles Weibel, 72, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 1:42 pm, Friday, January 12, 2024, at his home.  He was born on May 16, 1951, in Kendallville, Indiana, to William Charles and Phyllis (Greenman) Weibel.


Michael was a 1969 graduate of Fort Wayne Central High School, and a graduate of the Ravenscroft Beauty College in Fort Wayne. He was a self employed cosmetologist and a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren. Michael was a creative man who enjoyed the Arts. He sang tenor in multiple Wabash area ensembles including Market Street Beat, Wabash Area Community Theater, the Wabash Area Madrigal Choir, as well as several area churches. Michael also loved to use his artistic eye to create beautiful spaces by serving on decorating committees for the Honeywell Center, the Wabash County Museum, and the North Manchester Brethren Church. In addition, Michael loved to travel and attended various hair-styling seminars. He loved seeing shows of all kinds as part of various Honeywell Event Series. He was an avid curator of artistic paraphernalia such as Nativity scenes, art-gallery quality household décor, and various ornamental items. Michael was a devoted gardener who appreciated well-sculpted environments. Michael possessed a kind, loving, humorous, and generous personality.   


He is survived by sisters and brother, Christine Weibel and Becky (Mark) Huba, both of New Port Richey, Florida, Sandy (Rick) Weidner of Wabash, Jennie Weibel and Ben Weibel, both of New Port Richey, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew.

There will be a Celebration of Michael's life at the Manchester Church of the Brethren at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.


Preferred memorial is Wabash Area Community Theater.
