Morris Richey

Morris Richey, 80, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 5:55 pm on Monday, July 15, 2024, in his home. He was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, on Friday, June 23, 1944, to Dallas and Esther (Hopwood) Richey.  He was married to his loving wife, Linda (Stockrahm) Richey.

Morris graduated from Fairmount High School in 1962 and attended Ball State University.  He was a millwright at Chrysler in Kokomo until his retirement.  He and Linda divided their time living in Indiana and Florida.  While in Indiana, Morris attended Twin City Bible Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist in Florida.  He had many friends at Maple Run Friends Church, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher and youth leader.  He was a licensed official for USA Swimming, as well as a former PTO president at Swayzee Elementary.

Morris loved to play golf, enjoyed antiquing, and loved his ice cream.  He was also a very competitive board game player and enjoyed traveling.  

Survivors include his wife, Linda Richey of Marion; daughters, Cynthia Roach of Greenfield, Crystal (Michael) Maynard of Marion, Tracy (Eric) Stewart of Brookport, IL, Andrea Kwains of Muncie, Heather (Ed) Bigoss of Yorktown, and Michaele (David) Sturgeon of Lapel; grandchildren, Zachary (Grace) Roach, Elizabeth Roach, Elijah (Bethany) Maynard, Hayden Maynard, Nichole Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Blair Stewart, Alex Kwains, Kelsey McConahay, Emma Bigoss, and Aidan Sturgeon; great-grandchildren, Stevie Jane, Noah, Maytaya, and Kayden; and brothers, Leland (Alice) Richey of Swayzee, James "Ben" (Marcia) Richey of Carmel, and Sidney (Betty) Richey of Sweetser.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher Richey; and brother, Ernest Richey.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Morris' life will begin at 7:00 pm with Rev. Dale Schuiteman officiating.
