Nancy L. Henson, 82, North Manchester, formerly of Rochester and Linden, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the Peabody Healthcare Center in North Manchester. Born on December 19, 1942, in Montgomery County, Indiana, Nancy led a life marked by hard work, independence, and an unwavering spirit.
A proud graduate of Darlington High School in Montgomery County, Indiana, class of 1961, Nancy embarked on a notable career that spanned various fields. For twenty-five years, she worked in the accounting department at Lafayette Bank & Trust, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and precision. In addition to her time at the bank, Nancy contributed her talents at FedEx and also ventured into the world of advertising as a seller for Trader Magazine. She was known for her diligent work ethic and determination in all her professional endeavors.
Beyond her career, Nancy found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life on the farm. Her passion for riding horses and her active involvement in 4-H reflect her vibrant connection to the rural lifestyle she cherished. Nancy was also known for her exceptional talent in training and showing Brittany dogs, a pursuit that brought her great satisfaction and pride. Her decorative skills added beauty to her surroundings, showcasing her artistic flair and love for creating welcoming spaces.
Nancy’s independent and strong-willed personality endeared her to many. She was not just a hardworking woman; she embodied resilience and embraced life with a zeal that inspired others. Her legacy will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The loving memory of Nancy Henson will be forever cherished by her son, Jeff Henson, grandchild, Cheyenne Henson; and many cousins and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Keith Virgin.
A private graveside will be held at a later date.
