Norma L. Allen Davis, 95, Swayzee, passed away at 4:04 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. She was born in Sims, Indiana, on Monday, February 25, 1929, to Cordia and Sarah (Shockey) Allen. In 1986, she married Roy D. Davis and he preceded her.
Norma graduated from Swayzee High School in 1947 and was a longtime member of Swayzee Community Church (formerly Swayzee United Methodist Church) where she taught Sunday school and served many roles. Norma loved to read and the family would love to give a shoutout to the librarians in Swayzee who kept her supplied with reading material.
Survivors include her step-sons, Stan (Bonnie) Davis of Marion, Brent (Susan) Davis of Amboy; step-daughter, Zanna (Jeff) Paul of Marion; 6 step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces, Lenetta Drake, Sharon Hemphill, and Janet McIlwain
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordia and Sarah Allen; husband, Roy D. Davis; and 9 siblings.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service – Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Norma’s life will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jenni Debaun officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
