Normadean Clemons

Normadean Clemons, 100, Marion, passed away in her home at 3:35 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on Friday, September 19, 1924, to Lewis and Nina (Drollinger) Kirby.  On January 16, 1943, she married Thomas Clemons who preceded her.

Normadean was a proud graduate of Gas City Schools and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved cooking, especially her homemade noodles. She was a member of Healing Heart Church of God. She was musically gifted, playing any instrument she picked up, ranging from the guitar to the organ. She enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart and playing Farkle with her children. Normadean also loved dancing the two-step with Wayne and singing with her son, Bobby.

Survivors include her children, Robert “Bobby” Clemons of Marion, Reva Garza of Crystal River, FL, Cathy (Larry) Smith of Gas City, Richard (Peggy) Clemons of Marion, Wayne (Pam) Clemons of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great children; and several step grandchildren, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Henry and Nina June Kirby; husband, Thomas Clemons; brothers, Bob Kirby, Virgil Kirby; sisters, Helen Curtis, Louise Foxx; and great-grandson, Trevor Young.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Normadean’s life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Delmar Fenwick officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
