CASS COUNTY, IN- On Monday, January 6, 2025, one person was arrested after leading the Indiana State Police (ISP) on a pursuit in Cass County.
Shortly after 12:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, Master Trooper Chris Miller was patrolling the area of US 25 and US 35 in Logansport, IN, in an effort to locate a 2017 gray Toyota passenger vehicle that had been reported stolen out of Ohio. Once located, the vehicle disregarded a stop sign and led Miller on a pursuit through Cass County, reaching speeds of nearly 100 mph.
The pursuit continued into Lincoln, IN, where the vehicle came to a stop behind a residence. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Robert M. Jones from Ohio, exited the vehicle, discarded a knife, and fled on foot. He was subsequently taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the pursuit and the following investigation, Mr. Jones was preliminarily charged with the following offenses:
- Resisting Law Enforcement- Level 6 Felony
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle- Level 6 Felony
- Criminal Recklessness- B Misdemeanor
- Operator Never Licensed- C Misdemeanor
- Reckless Driving- C Misdemeanor
Trooper Miller received assistance from other members of the Indiana State Police Peru Post, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, and the Galveston Police Department.
