Patricia J. Hartley, 89, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 2:17 pm, Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on March 3, 1935, in Peru, Indiana, to Frederick and Garnet (Hawley) Gibson.
Pat was a 1953 graduate of Steubenville High School in Ohio and a 1956 graduate of Warner Beauty College. She married Jim Hartley in North Manchester, Indiana on June 9, 1984. Pat was a hairdresser and owned Shear Beauty in North Manchester 21 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Urbana Yoke Parish, the Business Professional Women Club, and the Beaus and Belles square dancing group both in North Manchester. Pat, along with her friend Peg Baker, organized a chapter of the Red Hat Society in North Manchester. Pat and Jim wintered in Florida several years. She enjoyed painting, working crafts, cooking, and especially baking.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Hartley of Wabash; two children, Mark P. (Jennifer) Anderson of Pierceton, Indiana, and James “Russ” Hartley of Laketon, Indiana; foster son, Bill (Treva) Worthington; seven grandchildren, Caitlin (Adam) Trueblood of Nappanee, Indiana, Logan Anderson and Casey (Katlyn) Anderson, both of Pierceton, Indiana, Alisha Lambert of Roann, Indiana, Chelsey Lambert of Marion, Indiana, Kristen Hartley and Conner Hartley, both of Belton, Texas; 15 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Jennings Glenn of Thurmont, Maryland, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Michael and Jeff Anderson; daughter, Cynthia Roser; step-daughter, Shelley Lambert, and her sister Rosemary Glenn.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Urbana Yoke Parrish, State Road 13, Urbana, with Chris Brock and Brian Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Friends may call 4-7 pm Friday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash.
