Phillip "Phil" Arthur Jennings, 60, Fairmount, passed away at 2:52 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 24, 1964, to Rev. Arthur and Jean (Epperson) Jennings. On February 15, 1986, he married Maria Kerr, and she survives.
Phil had worked as an electrician, handyman, carpenter, and mason throughout his life. He also owned and operated S & D Inc. Wholesale Company. Phil was a hard-working man and skilled craftsman who helped many people build and maintain beautiful homes. He enjoyed working with tools and inventing things. Phil liked woodworking, going to the beach, and having family and friends over for gatherings. He was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. More than anything, Phil loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He was a well-liked man who loved to make others laugh.
In addition to his loving wife of 38 years, survivors include his parents, Rev. Arthur (Jean) Jennings of Marion; daughter, Alicia (Derek) Pierce of Daleville; granddaughters, Gemma Pierce and Iris Pierce; sisters, Vanessa (late Dan) Bockover, Jennifer Cox, and Karen Jennings; father-in-law, James Gray; mother-in-law, Jerry Gray; brothers-in-law, Aaron (Carol) Kerr and Ryan (Angie) Kerr; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Sparky.
The family will receive visitors from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Phil's life will begin at 5:00 pm with Pastor Luke Robberts officiating.
