Raymond Jon “Ray” Felgar

Raymond Jon "Ray" Felgar, 91, of rural North Manchester, Indiana, died at 9:40 pm, Monday, June 3, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 26, 1933, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, to Raymond C. and Ferne (Rose) Felgar.

Ray was a graduate of Mineral Ridge High School, received his Bachelor's degree from Youngstown State University, and his graduate studies at Xavier University in Cincinnati. He was a US Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict, and played the trumpet in the Air Force Band. Ray married Julia Weller in Mount Vernon, Ohio on August 26, 1967. He was an accountant for the Peabody Seating Company, Majestic in Huntington, and Wabash Valley Manufacturing in Silver Lake. He also co-owned Manchester Realty from 1994-2019 . Ray enjoyed golfing, bowling, splitting wood, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's activities.  

He is survived by his wife, Julia Felgar of North Manchester; two children, Kathy (Jeff) Parrett of Roann, Indiana, and Jeff (Hollie) Felgar of North Manchester; Indiana; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Parrett, Logan Parrett, Morgan Parrett, Jackson Felgar, and Ava Felgar.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  and his brother, Donald Felgar.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, June 7, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.  Friends may call 3-7 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Parkview Hospice.
